Welcome the London Broncos!

On Wednesday 11 January 2012 giants of rugby league the London Broncos arrived at the Centre for team building and a series of activities in conjunction with the Royal Navy. Head coach Rob Powell believes that “with the number of new players that have been recruited” it will “make the squad as tight as possible.” Welcoming the Broncos to Base Camp Cafe was a pleasure, and it was down to our team in the Cafe to be at the top of their game; catering for early breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals – and all of it healthy and nutritious. Boy, these guys could really eat! It was a delight to serve them, without exception a more friendly, considerate and well mannered bunch of men you will not meet – true ambassadors for their sport! But BEWARE all opponents these guys are focused and they mean business. So thanks very much for using the centre and good luck for the forth coming season, you have definitely picked up a bunch new supporters and admirers in Llangorse! Visit their website –

Lands End to John O’Groats Rally comes to Llangorse!

HERO’s Land’s End to John O’Groats Classic Car Rally comes to Llangorse! LE JOG as it is affectionately known is still considered by many as one of the most demanding and challenging events in Europe. The conditions were tough enough in Wales but these guys were heading for the Highlands of Scotland and snow was already falling! Okay so we are a Multi Activity Centre but car rallying? Why not – it was a pleasure to welcome over 50 Classic cars (pre 1984) and their intrepid drivers and co-drivers on a cold and wet December night. They arrived with us in a blaze of lights from around 10:00pm with the last car leaving at 11:15pm. There was a time trial in the car park. Lot’s of smoking tyres and handbrake turns before logging in with the timing officials at Base Camp Cafe. Then back on the road to the next check point. Good luck, Bon voyage and above all safe journey and maybe we will see you again!
